So I am a member now what?

Welcome to brickladies we hope you meet lots of fun and interesting like minded women at our monthly events. We meet the second Thursday of every month at various venues around KL. As a member you will receive an invitation to all our events.

Brickladies has a few regulations in place to ensure the focus of our group remains at the forefront and that is providing a relaxed environment for women from all nationalities living and working in Malaysia to socialize.

  1. The aim of the Brickladies is to build and maintain an informal network of working women from various national, cultural and professional backgrounds in Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia who can rely on each other, help each other, give each other advice and most of all have a fun evening together once a month.
  2. We meet every second Thursday of the month from 7.30 PM to 10 PM.
  3. Activities can be organized by the founding mothers or by any other member of the network. The general idea is that the activity stimulates interaction between the members.
  4. The cost for the activity will be communicated via the invitation and needs to be paid upon arrival directly to the financial administrator for that evening.
  5. We speak and write in English. There is red and white wine, water and some food. Every meeting is limited to a budget. If the food and drinks are finished or when people want to order something else, members are expected to pay for these extra’s themselves. Occasionally member themselves will organize a special event or invite a guest speaker starting at 8 PM.
  6. Members only are invited to the meetings via an email that is send 2 times.
  7. Members are expected to respond to the invitation stating if they’re coming or not. Failing to reply three times to respond is perceived as a sign of disinterest and will result in being removed from the list.
  8. If a member does not receive an invitation per email, she is expected to contact one of the founding mothers to verify the email address.
  9. You can become a ‘member’ by signing up on our website, we accept members who are international women living and working in KL. Any person who does not meet our criteria will recieve and email notification that theit membership is denied.
  10. Membership activities are not to be used for sales promotions and the membership list is for individual non commercial use only.
  11. As of September 2008 there are 6 founding mothers: Marieke Elgersma, Petra Meekers, Lin Sheau Wei, Shontelle Allwood, Mirella Soyer and Rikke Jarvad Netterstrom. Together they oversee the Brickladies network, ensure that monthly activities take place, conduct the administration and contact current and new members.
